This version of QuickBooks® software includes several new and improved features. In this article, we will give you a brief overview of these features. New and improved features – QuickBooks® Desktop 2021:

Automated Statements – You can now use payment reminders to schedule statements for your customers. You can also set up reminders to let them know when they need to pay outstanding invoices. Once set up, QuickBooks® Desktop will notify you when your statements or invoices are ready to be sent. You can then review and approve the statements and invoices before sending them out. Receipt Management – You can now better manage your receipts using the QuickBooks® Desktop 2021 mobile app. Just take a picture of your receipt and upload the digital copy of your expense receipt into the system. You can also now categorize and record multiple transactions at the same time.

Customer Groups – This feature allows you to easily segment your customers into groups. Some examples of segmentation criteria include location, customer type, or the customers’ status. Once you’ve created your customer groups you can automate your statements, payment reminders, etc.

In QuickBooks® Desktop Enterprise 2021 you can also create groups for suppliers.

Customized Payment Receipts – Now you can create custom templates for your customer statements, invoices, estimates, sales receipts, and purchase orders. This feature allows you to customize these form templates to get the desired look and feel you would like for your brand.

A few examples of how you can customize these receipts include:

  • adding your logo,
  • changing the fonts and colors on your form templates,
  • and changing the company and transaction information.

Improvements to Bank Feeds – Use Batch editing, improved matching, and more enhanced rules to automatically categorizing your bank transactions. Increase efficiency with enhanced rules that allow you to search for, and define categorization criteria.

Improvements to PDF invoice and attachment review – Now you can confirm the accuracy of your email contents from within QuickBooks®. Save time by previewing your invoice and attachments from the Send Invoice view in QuickBooks®.

Improvements to Payroll liability reminders – Easily set up a payroll liability payment due reminder in your natively installed calendar application. Or you can save a file and import it into your calendar tool of choice.

Improvements to Payroll Setup – You are now able to complete the historical payroll set up more efficiently. Small business owners can now invite their employees to securely fill in their own personal information. 

Improvements to Auto matching for customer merchant payments – This feature allows QuickBooks® Desktop merchants to auto-match all payments to their accounting records every time. The majority of your downloaded payment transactions will automatically be assigned to the proper open invoice. Here’s some more good news – Credit card payments are deposited the next day into the merchant’s account; no extra fees or merchant action required!

Should you upgrade to QuickBooks® Desktop 2021?
